Best West End Debut 2014: Full Result

Willemijn Verkaik has won the 2014 West End Frame Award for Best West End Debut. She wins for her performance as Elphaba in the West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Speaking to West End Frame, Willemijn said: "Wow, this is really amazing and I'm truly touched. To play the role in the West End was such an honour and everyone knows it wasn't easy having to leave the show prematurely, but I always felt such support from all of you. I'm working very hard to get back into shape, and to receive this award is as if you're all there with me climbing that mountain. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!"

Andrew Tomlins (Editor of West End Frame) said: "We have seen some spectacular West End debuts over the past year and it has been inspiring to see so much support for our nominees who are fresh out of drama school as well as those who are internationally recognised superstars. There was a ridiculous amount of talent on the list of nominees and I would like to thank everybody who voted."

We are delighted to confirm the details of the next West End Frame Award!

Voting for our Best West End Debut Award (which runs as part of the 2014 West End Frame Awards) will open at 1pm on Monday 8th September and close at 3pm on Friday 26th September. 

Once voting has opened, voters should visit our Awards Page. The result can be previewed until Tuesday 16th September and the result will be announced on Monday 29th September 2014.

Voting is now open for the final West End Frame award of 2012 - Most Inspiring West End Show. There are so many West End shows which are inspiring in their own way and we thought it was about time they got some recognition!

Voting for Most Inspiring West End Show is only open for 12 days as voting must close on Saturday 22nd December 2012 at 7pm. The result will be announced shortly after voting closes on our Twitter and Facebook pages. The result can be previewed until Wednesday 19th December 2012.

Andrew read history at King’s College London and trained at the Royal Academy of Music. His theatre credits include Box and Cox at the Hen & Chickens Theatre, Nanki-Poo in The Hot Mikado at the Watermill Theatre and Nigel in the UK Tour of Salad Days. Details have been announced for the next West End Frame Award. From tomorrow (Monday 5th November), West End Frame readers will be able to vote in a new category entitled 'Funniest Performance in a West End Show'. The 12 nominees are from some of the West End's most popular shows including Mamma Mia!, Loserville, The 39 Steps, A Chorus Of Disapproval, Les Miserables, Rock Of Ages and Wicked. The identities of the 12 nominees will be revealed tomorrow morning when voting opens.

Previously this year West End Frame readers have already voted in five categorises: Best West End Debut, Understudy Of The Year, Most Wanted Actor/Actress To Return To The West End, Best Performance Of A Song In A Musical and Best Rock Musical.
