Casting announced for West Side Story at the Kilworth House Theatre

Casting has been announced for West Side Story at the Kilworth House Theatre. The show runs between 1st June and 17th July.

Matthew White directs with musical direction by John Morton, choreography by Sam Spencer Lane, set & costume by Paul Farnsworth, lighting by Jason Taylor and sound by Chris Whybrow.

Leading the cast are Liam Doyle (Ghost/Wicked) as Tony, newcomer Laila Zaidi as Maria and Sophia Ragavelas (Cats/Mamma Mia!) as Anita.

Sophia Ragavelas takes over as Katie Brown in Calamity Jane

It has been announced that Sophia Ragavelas is taking over from Pheobe Street as Katie Brown in the UK Tour of Calamity Jane.

Ragavelas, who recently alternated the role of Grizabella in Cats at the London Palladium, will play her first performance on 26th May in Darlington and star in the tour until it concludes in Richmond on 8th August 2015.

Also joining the cast are Wayne Fitzsimmons and Robert Hazle. Calamity Jane will continue to star Jodie Prenger in the title role, Tom Lister as Wild Bill Hickok and Alex Hammond as Danny.

Ragavelas' West End credits include: The Witches of Eastwick (Prince of Wales); The Lion King (Lyceum); Eponine and Fantine in Les Misérables (Palace Theatre/Queen’s), Sophie in Mamma Mia! (Prince of Wales) and Chloe Turner in Never Forget (Savoy).

It was a very brave decision for the Landor Theatre to stage the London premiere of [title of show] at the same time as the musical is receiving its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Having seen the show in Edinburgh just two days earlier, it felt a little strange to be reviewing another production of [title of show] so soon. Of course it would be impossible not to compare the two productions. 

Interview: Kieran Brown on My Big Fat MUSICAL Cabaret 2

After the success of his previous cabarets Kieran Brown is back doing what he does best! He will star in 'My Big Fat Musical Cabaret' at the Union Theatre on 29th July 2012. Kieran is currently understudying the roles of Doctor Dillamond and The Wizard in Wicked at The Apollo Victoria. 

Speaking to West End Frame Kieran said "Well, it's called My Big Fat MUSICAL Cabaret 2, and basically the title says it all! I did a similar show a couple of times last year at the Pheasantry and Lauderdale House, although this version is predominantly new."
