Despite knowing half the score inside out, last night was my first time seeing Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's cult musical Little Shop of Horrors onstage.

Casting announced for Little Shop Of Horrors UK tour

Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK tour of Little Shop Of Horrors.

As previously announced, former X Factor contestant Rhydian Roberts will play the Dentist. He will star alongside Sam Lupton (Wicked/Avenue Q) as Seymour and Stephanie Clift (Mamma Mia!) as Audrey.

The cast also includes Paul Kissaun as Mushnik, Sasha Latoya as Crystal, Vanessa Fisher as Chiffon, Cassie Clare as Ronnette and Josh Wilmott as Audrey II as well as Phil Adele, Stephanie McConville and Neil Nicholas.

Rhydian Roberts to star in Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors will launch a new tour later this year.

Directed by Tara Wilkinson, the show will open on 4th August at the Bournemouth Pavilion before visiting Llandudno, Wimbledon, Belfast, Woking, Aylesbury, Lichfield, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bridlington, Cheltenham, Coventry, Manchester, Glasgow and Blackpool

Former X Factor contestant Rhydian Roberts will play the Dentist. His theatre credits include: Grease, We Will Rock You, The War Of The Worlds, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Rocky Horror Show. 

Choreography is by Matthew Cole with musical supervision by Mark Crossland. Little Shop of Horrors features music by Alan Menken. The musical originally opened off-off-Broadway in 1982 before moving to the Orpheum Theatre off-Broadway later that year where it ran for five years.

Jake Gyllenhaal to make musical theatre debut in Little Shop of Horrors

Following his performance in the Broadway production of Constellations, it has been announced that Jake Gyllenhaal will make his musical theatre debit as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors in New York City Center's Encores!

Ellen Greene, who created the role of Audrey both on stage and screen, will reprise her performance. Dick Scanlan directs. The show runs three performances only between 1st and 2nd July 2015. Choreography is by Patricia Wilcox with musical direction by Chris Fenwick.
