Q Productions have announced that open auditions will be taking place for their production of Aladdin. Producers are searching for young performers to appear in Croydon's 2016 pantomime.
Following the closure of Fairfield Halls to undergo a two-year refurbishment, Q Productions are producing Aladdin to ensure Croydon still has a pantomime this Christmas.
As previously announced, the panto will run between 7th December and 31st December 2016 at Waddon Leisure Centre. The venue is being converted into a 400-seat theatre specially for the production.
Open Auditions for the Junior Ensemble will take place on Sunday 25th September 2016 at Waddon Leisure Centre. Producers are looking for "talented dancers and performers with strong experience in drama and singing." The open casting call also states that auditionees should be aged 9 to 15 years old and should be no taller than 5ft 5.
Director Eddie Dredge says: "We are searching for outstanding local talent to perform in this year’s Croydon pantomime spectacular Aladdin. We are looking to assemble a fantastically talented Juvenile Chorus that will wow local audiences.
"This is an amazing opportunity for talented performers from the Croydon community to take part in a fully professional production where they will work alongside a star name and professional West End performers. It’s also a great chance for these young performers to share their talents in front of their friends and family in their home town. Good luck to everyone taking part in the auditions – I look forward to meeting you!"
