GOSSIP: Michael Grandage to direct Guys & Dolls film remake

According to Deadline, British director Michael Grandage will direct 20th Century Fox’s film remake of Guys and Dolls.

Grandage previously directed the musical's 2005 West End revival starring Ewan McGregor, Douglas Hodge, Jane Krakowski and Jenna Russell.

When Fox acquired the rights in 2013, it was reported that the studio were in talks with Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in the film. No casting has been confirmed.

Guys and Dolls premiered on Broadway in 1950 before opening in the West End in 1953. The original film adaptation was released in 1955 starring Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, Jean Simmons and Vivian Blaine.

Chichester's revival of Guys and Dolls recently extended West End run at the Phoenix Theatre to 7th January 2017. Rebel Wilson is joining the cast as Miss Adelaide from 28th June.
