NT Live announces live broadcasts of Othello, Macbeth, Coriolanus & War Horse

Last week Peter Morgan's Olivier Award-winning new play The Audience was broadcast around the wold. The play was seen by nearly 30,000 people in North America and nearly 80,000 people in the UK - the largest audience ever for a live broadcast from National Theatre Live.

Following this success,  many encore screening have been added with some further dates yet to be announced. In North America, there are currently 700 screenings scheduled and in the UK nearly 800 screenings will take place - the largest number of screenings for a National Theatre Live broadcast in both North America and the UK ever. 

The Audience played its final performance at London's Gielgud Theatre on 15th June, starring internationally acclaimed actress Helen Mirren as The Queen, directed by Stephen Daldry, and won two 2013 Olivier Awards for Best Actress (Helen Mirren) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Richard McCabe).

The National Theatre Live have also announced that The National's critically-acclaimed new production of Shakespeare's Othello will be broadcast live on 26th September 2013.

The Manchester International Festival's production of Macbeth, with Kenneth Branagh in the title role, will be broadcast live in the UK on 20th July 2013 and broadcast internationally on 17th October 17 2013.

A star-studded 50th Anniversary celebration of The National Theatre will be broadcast live from the National on 2nd November 2013

The Donmar Warehouse's production of Shakespeare's Coriolanus, directed by Josie Rourke, will be broadcast live on 20th January 2014

Finally, the National's internationally acclaimed production of War Horse, based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford, and directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris in association with Handspring Puppet Company, will be broadcast live from the West End for the first time ever in 2014, with specific dates to be announced.

All broadcasts will have multiple encore screenings following the live dates.
