Breaking News: Viva Forever to close next month

Cast members of Viva Forever have seemingly confirmed on Twitter that the musical will close next month. One cast member Tweeted "that’s the way it goes - can’t win them all!". Another said "Cut price Gerrard Butler type who can do a Geordie accent for hire! Viva Forever given its notice and will close 29th June."

It appears that the show will close at the Piccadilly Theatre on 29th June however we are still waiting for an official announcement to be made by the shows producers.

Update: According to the Daily Mail the musical will close with a loss of at least £5 million.

Viva Forever! is a romantic comedy that tells the story of a family thrown into chaos as Viva and her three best friends get swept up in a TV talent show where stars are born and dreams are shattered. The show features the hits of the Spice Girls and a script written by Jennifer Saunders.

Viva Forever opened at the Piccadilly Theatre on 11th December 2012 and was previously booking until February 2014.

    I think that the critics killed all the buzz that show had......just sad.....feeling sorry for the cast and producers, Jen Saunders....

  3. I saw Viva thinking it would be like Mamma Mia... but it's not. It is far more silly and adult and I didn't like it.

    However I totally understand why some people love it and it is so sad for cast crew etc
