Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts to tour the UK later this year

English Touring Theatre and the Rose Theatre Kingston are have announced their co-production of Henrik Ibsen’s classic, Ghosts. The production open at the Rose Theatre Kingston, from 19th September 2013, before touring nationwide to Salisbury, Oxford, Guildford, York, Watford and Malvern.

It has been twenty years since Stephen Unwin founded English Touring Theatre, making this co-production the perfect collaboration to celebrate the company’s 21st Anniversary. Stephen will direct his own translation, with design by Simon Higlett and lighting design by Paul Pyant. They will take inspiration from an original design by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, famous for his painting ‘The Scream’. This will be the first time the designs have been used since the 1906 production.

Stephen originally directed Ghosts to critical acclaim in 2002. Talking about his 2013 production, he commented, "I’m thrilled to be returning to English Touring Theatre 20 years after founding this company. I am a self-confessed Ibsen fanatic and this production of Ghosts is the best way of celebrating 20 years of English Touring Theatre."

Box Office: 08444 821556.

Full casting to be announced.
