The Wizard Of Oz
London Palladium
Performance: Wednesday 1st August 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at the London Palladium seeing The Wizard Of Oz. It is a light hearted show with nice music, costumes and set. The Wizard Of Oz is the ultimate family show and I would highly recommend you take your kids and Grandmas to this show as they will love it!
I had previously seen Sophie Evans play Dorothy while she was understudying the role and was delighted to see her again. She had grown into the role of Dorothy and her voice is divine. Sophie's 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' was crystal clear and completely perfect. She is a fantastic Dorothy and I look forward to seeing what she does next.
Des O'Connor was born to be on stage and he can definitely still sing! He has great stage presence and truly makes a wonderful Wizard. Andrew Lloyd Webber's new songs improve the show and give characters such as The Wizard and The Wicked Witch a much bigger part.
Paul Keating was hilarious and gave a highly animated performance as the Scarecrow. Emily Tierney has a beautiful voice and shines while on stage as Glinda. But for me it was Marianne Benedict who stole the show as The Wicked Witch Of The West. She acted the part perfectly and built up an amazing relationship with the audience. She is an extremely talented lady and is definitely one to watch.
The ensemble of the show are strong, all the big numbers are amazing to watch and there is so much going on that you want to go back and see the show again to catch all the things you missed.
This is a fantastic show and it will be a shame to see it close in September.

I also LOVED IT and hope to see it at least once more! Took my 8 year old daughter with me and I don't know who liked it more. Can't believe it is closing!!!
