Overall ticket sales have increased over the past week. There has never been a better time to visit one of London’s theatres with later-running transport and great special offers available. It had previously been predicted that the West End would struggle during the Olympics but this has not been the case.
Every day this week at Society of London Theatre's TKTS ticket booth in Leicester Square has been substantially up on last week with each day’s sales growing. TKTS sold 58 percent more tickets in the w/c 30 July than the previous week. Monday, 6 August, was the best-selling Monday at TKTS since 2 April, 2012, with visitors and Londoners taking the opportunity to buy discounted or full-price tickets for a great selection of shows.
SOLT’s annual Kids Week promotion has now so far sold more than 109,000 tickets up from 73,426 final sales figure last year. Sales have been spread evenly throughout August with no difference in terms of attendance between the Olympic weeks and the non-Olympic weeks. During Kids Week (1-31 August) a child aged 16 or under can go free to any participating show when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Up to two extra children’s tickets can be purchased at half price. Kids Week also has a fantastic range of free activities and events including cast Q&As, backstage tours and song and dance workshops
.
Make the most of the deals and go to the West End before the Olympics are over!
