Casting announced for premiere of The Hotel Cerise

Casting has been announced for the premiere of The Hotel Cerise.

Inspired by Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, Bonnie Greer's new play opens at the Theatre Royal Stratford East on 25th October (previews from 20th October) for a limited run to 12th November 2016.

Femi Elufowoju jr directs with set by Ellen Cairns, costume by Jessica Curtis, lighting by Tim Lutkins and sound by Simon McCorry

Ellen Thomas, who recently appeared in EastEnders, leads the company, with El Anthony, Madeline Appiah, Michael Bertenshaw, Nicholas Beveney, Andrew Dennis, Abhin Galeya, Lacharne Jolly, Corey Montague-Sholay, Claire Prempeh, Alexis Rodney and Angela Wynter completing the cast.

Full casting was announced for the Theatre Royal Stratford East's new production of Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be this morning.

The production will star:  Jessie Wallace as Lil, Gary Kemp as PC Collins, Sarah Middleton as Rosie, Ruth Alfie Adams as Brenda, Will Barton as Percy, Suzie Chard as Betty, Mark Arden as Fred, Ryan Molloy as Horace, Stefan Booth as Tosher, Christopher Ryan as Red Hot, Vivian Carter as Myrtle, Stevie Hutchinson as Ted/PC 2, John Olohan as Paddy, Gary Watson as Norman/PC 1 and Joanna Woodward as Margaret. Eastenders star Jessie Wallace & Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp cast in 'Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be' at the Theatre Royal Stratford East

It has been that Eastenders actress Jessie Wallace and Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp will lead the cast in Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be as Lil and PC Collins at the  Theatre Royal Stratford East.

The are joined by Sarah Middleton as Rosie, Ruth Alfie Adams as Brenda, Will Barton as Percy and Suzie Chard as Betty, with further casting to be announced shortly.

Coinciding with Joan Littlewood’s Centenary, and alongside a new production of Oh What a Lovely War, Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be is returning to Theatre Royal Stratford East in new version by Olivier-nominated Elliot Davis (Loserville, Soho Cinders). The show will be directed by the multi award-winning Terry Johnson (Duck House, La Cage Aux Folles, End of the Rainbow, Little Voice), with set and costume design by William Dudley and choreography by Nathan M Wright.
