Casting announced for Sweet Charity at the Royal Exchange

Casting has been announced for the upcoming revival of Sweet Charity at the Royal Exchange in Manchester.

Derek Bond will direct the production which runs between 3rd December 2016 and 21st January 2017. Sweet Charity has music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields and book by Neil Simon.

Denise Van Outen returns to musical theatre in Paul Foster's concert staging of Sweet Charity by Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields and Neil Simon.

Featuring some classic songs such as 'Big Spender', 'There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This' and 'Rhythm Of Life', the cast are joined onstage by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra who sound absolutely glorious under the direction of Richard Balcombe.

Katie Birtill to star in Sweet Charity at the New Wolsey Theatre

Katie Birtill is set to star as Charity Valentine in Sweet Charity at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich later this year.

Directed by Peter Rowe, the actor-musician production runs between 3rd and 26th September 2015.

The score features classic numbers such as Big Spender, If My Friends Could See Me Now, The Rhythm of Life and I'm A Brass Band.

Birtill's theatre credits include: Diva and understudy Marian in Priscilla (UK tour), Sue in Dreamboats and Petticoats (UK tour) and Femme Fatale (Upstairs at the Gatehouse). Full casting to be announced.

Kerry Ellis, Michael Xavier, Denise Van Outen & Kimberley Walsh star in Sweet Charity concert

It has been announced that Kerry Ellis (Cats/Wicked), Michael Xavier (Assassins/The Pajama Game), Denise Van Outen (Legally Blonde/RENT) and Kimberley Walsh (Shrek/Elf) will star in a concert staging of Sweet Charity.

The production will run at Cadogan Hall for six performances between Wednesday  19th and Saturday 22nd August 2015. The performers will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the Arts Ed Chorale.
