Casting announced for Priscilla Queen of the Desert in New Zealand

Casting has been announced for the New Zealand production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Following its recent UK tour, Priscilla will open at the Civic Theatre in Auckland on 14th October and run until 6th November 2016 celebrating its 10th anniversary.

West End actor Simon Green is reprising his performance as Bernadette, starring alongside Bryan Buscher-West as Astick/Mitzi and Andre Torquato as Adam/Felicia.

The show will also star Ray Meagher (Bob), Erin Bruce (Marion), Bleu Woodward (Diva 1), Amy Di Bartolomeo (Diva 2), Ellie Leah (Diva 3 / Shirley) and Lena Cruz (Cynthia).

Darren Day to star in UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert

It has been announced that Darren Day will star as ‘Tick’ in the UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Day, who is sharing the role with Duncan James and Jason Donovan, will join the cast for the musical's runs in Woking, Plymouth and Llandudno.

Day’s first theatre role was the title role in “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, both in the West End and on tour internationally. His other West End theatre credits include ‘Danny’ in “Grease”; ‘Don’ in “Summer Holiday” and ‘Tony’ in “Copacabana”.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is possibly the greatest party musical ever created. Bringing out the wild side of Aylesbury audiences, the show provided perfect Monday evening escapism. This was my second time seeing the show and, once again, the experience was unforgettable.

Open auditions announced for Priscilla UK tour

Debbie O'Brien Casting have announced that open auditions for the upcoming UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert will be held later this week.

Producers are looking for an actor to play the leading role of Adam (Felicia). Open auditions will take place at 10am (for 10.30am start) on Thursday 18th June 2015 at Dragon Hall in Covent Garden (17 Stukeley Street, WC2B 5LT).

Please see details below:

• Must have excellent dance and vocal skills (strong rock tenor is essential) and muscular physique
• Must be prepared to start in late July for 1 year contract
• Please wear close fitting dance clothes and jazz trainers, and bring heels if you have them
• Prepare one up tempo pop song, and bring photo
• Bring CV and sheet music (no backing tracks)

Jason Donovan returns to Priscilla Queen of the Desert for UK tour!

It has been announced that Jason Donovan will once again reprise his performance as Tick in the upcoming UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Donovan will play selected venues, including  Hull, Wimbledon, Bradford, Birmingham, Aylesbury, York, Edinburgh, Wales, Nottingham and Liverpool.

As previously announced, Duncan James will star as Tick at other venues. The tour opens at the Manchester Opera House on Friday 14th August 2015.

It has been announced that Duncan James will star as Tick in the new UK Tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

The production opens at the Manchester Opera House on Friday 14th August 2015 where it will play until Saturday 29th August 2015.

Producer David Ian said: "I am absolutely thrilled that audiences have demanded more of Priscilla! The reaction the show gets at theatres everywhere is like something I’ve never witnessed before – it is truly a party not to be missed. Having Duncan James play Tick is just the icing on the cupcake!"

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is launching a new UK Tour later this year, opening at the Manchester Opera House on 14th August 2015.

Based on the smash-hit movie, Priscilla is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of. 

The score features classics including It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, Finally, Boogie Wonderland, Go West, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and I Love The Nightlife.
