Full casting announced for My Fair Lady 60th anniversary concert

WhatsOnStage have announced full casting for the 60th anniversary concert staging of My Fair Lady at St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden on Sunday 19th June.

It has been revealed that Patricia Routledge (Keeping Up Appearances) will play Mrs Higgins whilst Bradley Jaden (Wicked) will star as Freddie Eynsford-Hill. 

Sam Hiller (My Fair Lady/Phantom) will play Colonel Pickering with Rebecca Louis (Mack and Mabel) as Mrs Pearce. Joining the ensemble are Andrew Bateup, Jordan Lee Davies, Katy Hanna, Emma Harrold, Sejal Keshwala and Joe Vetch.

Line-up announced for My Fair Lady 60th anniversary concert

The line-up has been announced for a 60th anniversary concert staging of My Fair Lady at St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden on Sunday 19th June.


The role of Eliza Doolittle will be shared between Gina Beck (Show Boat/Wicked), Alexia Khadime (Book of Mormon/Lion King), Amy Lennox (Kinky Boots/Legally Blonde), Eva Noblezada (Miss Saigon/Les Mis), Laura Pitt-Pulford (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers/Oliver!) and Kara Tointon (The Sound of Music LIVE/Pygmalion).

Theatre Gossip: David Walliams & Sheridan Smith to star in My Fair Lady?

The Mirror has reported that David Walliams and Sheridan Smith are preparing to reunite on stage in a West End revival of My Fair Lady. Walliams reportedly developed the idea with Michael Grandage whilst the pair were playing Bottom and Titania in Grandage's production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream last year.


Smith will play Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle opposite Walliams as Professor Henry Higgins. The newspaper claims that Walliams told Grandage: “We should do My Fair Lady. That casting would kind of work, wouldn’t it? Sheridan will be fantastic as Eliza.”

Theatre Gossip: My Fair Lady starring Dominic West for West End Transfer?

According to the Daily Mail, Sheffield Theatres' acclaimed production of My Fair Lady could transfer to the West End. Starring Dominic West as Henry Higgins and Carly Bawden as Eliza Doolittle, the production opened in the Crucible Theatre last month and continues until 26th January.


While nothing is yet confirmed, a London transfer could happen in May, when Dominic West is available to repeat his performance for a limited London season. According to the article West End theatre owners have been scrambling to stage the transfer. Everything is up for discussion while availability, rights - and a theatre - are being sorted.
