Production Pics: Rabbit Hole at the Hampstead Theatre starring Claire Skinner & Penny Downie

Production images have been released for the UK premiere of Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire. Rabbit Hole opens at the Hampstead Theatre tomorrow (4th February), having begun previews on 29th January. Directed by Edward Hall, the play runs until 5th March 2016. The cast includes Claire Skinner (The Father/Outnumbered), Tom Goodman-Hill (The Effect/The Secret Agent), Georgina Rich (The Merchant of Venice/Dirty Dancing) and Sean Delaney in his professional debut. Completing the cast is Penny Downie (Downton Abbey/The Fairy Queen) who replaced Alison Steadman after she withdrew from the production due to personal reasons.

Following its premiere in Bath and sold out London run at the Tricycle, Christopher Hampton's adaptation of Florian Zeller's play The Father has transferred to the West End. I fully stand by what I wrote after first seeing the piece back in May: The Father is one of the best plays I have seen all year.

Christopher Hampton's adaptation of Florian Zeller's play The Father is one of the best plays I have seen all year. Not only does your heart break as you watch Kenneth Cranham portray a man called Andre who is slowly losing his grip of reality, but we also see how dementia impacts and affects loved ones.

Full casting announced for The Father at the Tricycle Theatre starring Claire Skinner

Full casting has been announced for The Father which transfers to the Tricycle Theatre next month following a run at the Ustinov Studio in Bath last year.

The show opens on 12th May (previews from 7th May) and runs until 13th June 2015. Kenneth Cranham, Rebecca Charles, Colin Tierney and Jade Williams reprise their original roles and are joined by new cast members Claire Skinner and Jim Sturgeon.

The Father is directed by James Macdonald with design by Miriam Buether, lighting by Guy Hoare and sound by Christopher Shutt.
