GOSSIP: Britney Spears in talks to star in Cinderella at the London Palladium?

According to Sunday People, Britney Spears is in talks to star in pantomime this Christmas at the London Palladium.

The newspaper reports that Spears is "close to agreeing a mega-deal - worth up to £500,000 - to play Cinderella for five weeks at the London Palladium." 

Kylie Minogue and Kim Kardashian are said to have turned the role down.

An insider 'close to the deal' is claimed to have said: "The final agreement hasn’t yet been signed but everyone is confident and hopeful it will be sorted very shortly so an official announcement can be made."

First casting announced for Lyric Hammersmith's pantomime

First casting has been announced for the Lyric Hammersmith's Christmas production of Cinderella by Tom Wells. 

The pantomime will open on 28th November 2015 (previews from 21st November) and run until 3rd January 2016. Samuel Buttery (Taboo/The Voice) will lead the cast as Buttons. 

Cinderella will also star Sara Crowe (Fallen Angels/Hay Fever) as Madama Woo, Krystal Dockery (professional stage debut) as Cinderella and Karl Queensborough (A Wolf in Snakeskin Shows)  as Prince Charming. Further casting is to be announced.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a great panto and Cinderella at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre makes all your dreams and wishes come true. Appealing to adults as well as children, the production features sparkling sets and terrific costumes as well as plenty of witty one-liners.

Known for staging the greatest pantomimes in all the land, this year's New Wimbledon Theatre panto is bigger and crazier than ever before. I must admit I had forgotten just how bizarre panto is; Ian Talbot's production ticks all the right boxes and provides a fun family experience.

Carly Rae Jepsen to star in Broadway's Cinderella

It has been announced that 'Call Me Maybe' singer Carly Rae Jepsen will replace Tony nominee Laura Osnes in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway. 

Jepsen will step into the role from 4th February for a limited 12-week run. Jepsen began performing in musical theatre at high school, she starred in productions such as Annie, The Wiz and Grease before attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts. 

"It was essentially musical theater training with studies in singing, dancing and acting," said Jepsen. "My favorite part of the school year was our trip to New York, where we met Broadway performers and toured the theatres."
