Sleeping Arrangements marks the first Sophie Kinsella book to be adapted into a musical, but as I discovered you do not need to be familiar with the book to enjoy this lighthearted, sunny show. The story is simple(ish), following two families who go on holiday to discover they have been double booked by a mutual friend. This results in the two families having to share the three bedroom villa for a week, but not all is as it seems...

The Play That Goes Wrong certainly does go wrong, in the most comical and excellent way. The play has been brilliantly written by three members of the cast: Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and this production has been wonderfully directed by Mark Bell. The play is about amateur production of 1920s whodunit ‘Murder at Haversham Manor’that goes horribly wrong.

Unlike many shows, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat does what it says on the tin. It is indeed a 'colourful retelling of the biblical story about Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours'. The best thing about Joseph is that you always know what to expect as over the years the show has changed very little. It is no secret that the price of theatre tickets is soaring through the roof, and as Joseph remains a bright show with a catchy score and wide appeal, I think it is the safest choice you could possibly make when booking a family outing.
