Joe Aaron Reid, Liisi LaFontaine & Ibinabo Jack join Amber Riley in Dreamgirls

Further casting has been announced for the West End premiere of Dreamgirls.

Joining the previously announced Amber Riley as Effie White are Joe Aaron Reid as Curtis Taylor Jr, Liisi LaFontaine as Deena Jones, Ibinabo Jack as Lorrell Robinson, Nicholas Bailey as Marty, Adam J. Bernard as Jimmy Early and Tyrone Huntley as C.C. White.



UPDATE (03/06/16): Also joining the cast are: Jocasta Almgill, Callum Aylott, Hugo Batista, Samara Casteallo, Chloe Chambers, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Joelle Dyson, Kimmy Edwards, Candace Furbert, Nathan Graham, Ashley Luke Lloyd, Gabriel Mokake, Abiola Ogunbiyi, Sean Parkins, Kirk Patterson, Ryan Reid, Rohan Richards, Noel Samuels, Durone Stokes and Tosh Wanogho-Maud.

Ruth Brown and Karen Mav alternate the role of Effie. Directed by Casey Nicholaw, Dreamgirls opens at the Savoy Theatre on 14th December 2016 (previews from 19th November).

The show will have set by Tim Hatley with costume by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Richard Brooker, hair by Josh Marquette, musical supervision by Nick Finlow and orchestrations by Harold Wheeler with additional material by Willie Reale.

Dreamgirls has book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger. The original Broadway production of Dreamgirls, directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, opened in 1981 starring Jennifer Holliday and won six Tony Awards. In 2006 Dreamgirls was adapted into an Oscar winning film starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé Knowles, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.
