James Freedman: Man Of Steal to embark on UK tour

Following its West End run and season at the Menier Chocolate Factory last year, James Freedman's one man show Man Of Steal will embark on a UK tour this June.

Freedman, “The world’s Number One Pickpocket” and stealth crime expert, will steal a whole lot more than you might expect. One member of the audience will lose the most valuable thing possible...what have you got to lose?

Funny and fast-fingered, this “master of the deceptive arts”, exposes how the bad guys really think and the show reflects a life-time spent studying street criminals, con-men and cyber fraudsters. Edward Hilsum directs the show which is written by Freedman and Hilsum.

Fuelled at an early age by being victim to muggers, he began a lifelong study of criminology and the psychology of thieves. In his words, “It was then I decided to become a pickpocket myself – only an honest one. I want to educate people to help them avoid becoming victims.”

Hailed a genius in his field by Derren Brown, Freedman is the only man to have picked the pockets of The Mayor of London, The Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Governor of the Bank of England. He is in great demand from businesses and Police Forces as an advisor, speaker and educator and was recently appointed by the City of London Police as the UK’s first Fraud Prevention Ambassador.
