According to the Daily Mail, Broadway mega-hit Hamilton is aiming to open at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2017 if the venue's refurbishment works are completed on time.
It was previously reported that Cameron Mackintosh, who recently bought the Victoria Palace, is producing Hamilton's West End transfer. Billy Elliot The Musical closes at the Victoria Palace Theatre on 9th April 2016.
Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail with book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The show opened on Broadway last year to tremendous acclaim and is currently sold out for the rest of the year.
The Broadway cast includes Miranda in the title role with Jonathan Groff as King George III, Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton, Daveed Diggs as Marquis De Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler and Javier Muñoz as alternate Hamilton.
Two additional U.S. productions of Hamilton have already been announced.
