Royal Albert Hall hosting Rocky Horror anniversary screening

The Royal Albert Hall is hosting a special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show to celebrate the film's 40th anniversary.

After the film has been screened, members of the cast will take to the stage for a Q&A. The event takes place at 7pm on 27th October 2015. In a first for the Royal Albert Hall, the event will also be broadcast live to more than 600 cinemas across the UK.

Lucy Noble (Director of Events) said: "Rocky Horror is a cult phenomenon like no other, and we can't wait to welcome cast members and fans alike to this very special, one-off celebration of a deliciously twisted confection.

"It's set to be an unforgettable evening for everyone involved, though for one group of fans in particular, there's a truly unique opportunity - the opportunity to do the Time Warp on the world's most famous stage, in front of 5,000 people."

Between 4th and 6th September 2015 Blackpool's Winter Gardens will hold the Time Warp Dance Festival and the winning contestants will be invited to perform on stage at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Rocky Horror Show premiered at the Royal Court in June 1973 before being adapted into a film in 1975. A Rocky Horror sequel entitled Shock Treatment is receiving its stage premiere next week at the King's Head Theatre whilst the The Rocky Horror Show will launch a new UK Tour later this year.
