According to the Daily Mail, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will begin previews at the Aldwych Theatre on 10th February 2015.
Baz Bamigboye suggests there are several contenders to play the title role in the show. The musical's Tony Award winning Broadway star Jessie Mueller could transfer with the production.
However, it is believed Mueller's understudy (Rebecca LaChance or Sara Sheperd) could lead the cast of the West End production while a few British actresses are also being considered.
Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of Carole King's remarkable rise to stardom from being part of a chart-topping songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.
