Wicked becomes West End’s 10th longest running show

Wicked has become the West End’s 10th longest running show.

Currently in its 8th year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, the musical has now been seen by over 5.5 million people since its London premiere in September 2006 and played over 3,000 performances. Wicked tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz.

Michael McCabe (Executive Producer) said: "We are extremely proud to be joining such legendary shows as The Mousetrap, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera as one of the 10 longest running productions in the West End. It is an incredible new milestone for Wicked and we greatly appreciate the continuing support of theatregoers."

The London production currently stars: Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Martyn Ellis (The Wizard), Paul Clarkson (Doctor Dillamond), Sam Lupton (Boq), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Emma Hatton (Standby Elphaba) and Sophie Linder-Lee (Standby Glinda).

Cast subject to change from 27th October 2014.

While continuing its open-ended London run, a new production of Wicked is also touring the UK until the summer of 2015. Around the world, Wicked has already been seen by 40 million people and has 9 productions running concurrently.
