Chichester Festival Theatre has also confirmed that Peter Polycarpou and Sophie Thompson will star in a revival of Guys and Dolls. The production will open on 11th August, running until 21st September.
This multi award-winning musical originally opened in 1950, winning five Tony Awards including Best Musical. It includes the hit numbers 'Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat' and 'My Time of Day' and inspired the award-winning 1955 movie which starred Marlon Brando as Sky Masterson and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit.
American director Gordon Greenberg makes his directorial debut at Chichester: choreography is by internationally renowned Carlos Acosta. Peter Polycarpou plays Nathan Detroit, returning to Chichester following his performance in The Pajama Game (he leaves the West End transfer early to star in Guys & Dolls) opposite Sophie Thompson as Miss Adelaide. Her last appearance at Chichester was in The Chalk Garden (1986).
