Following its 2010/11 West End run, Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman's Ghost Stories has returned to the West End. The creators ask the press and audience to keep the show's plot a secret which makes it a little more challenging to review, but it's important to see Ghost Stories without knowing any spoilers.

Is Ghost Stories scary? It's not hauntingly terrifying but I think if you are easily scared, or allow yourself to be, then you will be terrified. Some of the audience were very vocal, almost pantomime-like with very loud, over the top reactions throughout.
Several audience members walked our throughout the 80 minute show (there is a no readmittance policy), but I don't think this was due to the quality of the production, I just don't think Ghost Stories appeals to those more serious about the horror genre as Ghost Stories can be a little silly at times.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of the horror genre and I didn't scream but I did jump several times. On my way home I thought about how well I had coped... and then suddenly my train came to a random halt, the lights flickered and I heard this high pitch screeching sound - I was a little freaked out.
If you want to have a bit of fun, scream with your friends, and admire this cleverly-staged production performed by a strong cast, Ghost Stories will certainly provide an enjoyable theatrical experience.
