Tomorrow evening (Sat 3rd August) The Hothouse, the second production of Jamie Lloyd's Trafalgar Transformed season at Trafalgar Studios, will come to an end before the season's third play, The Pride, begins previews just days later on Thursday 8th August.

The Pride, written by Alexi Kaye Campbell, will star Hayley Atwell (Captain America, Life of Crime, The Faith Machine, A View from the Bridge) as Sylvia, Harry Hadden-Paton (Posh, She Stoops to Conquer, Flare Path) as Philip, Al Weaver (Inadmissible Evidence, Coram Boy, Hamlet) as Oliver and Mathew Horne (Gavin and Stacey, Bad Education, Charley's Aunt) as The Man/Peter/The Doctor.
The Pride is Alexi Kaye Campbell’s hilarious and heart-felt landmark play about courage, compassion and the fear of loneliness in life’s journey towards self-discovery. On Wednesday (31st July) a special press event was held at Trafalgar Studios to celebrate The Hothouse's run and to welcome the cast of The Pride, who have been rehearsing for the past few weeks, to Trafalgar Studios.
When questioned about what attracted her to The Pride, Hayley Atwell said "I've worked with Jamie (Lloyd) and Alexi (Kaye-Campbell) before when I did The Faith Machine at the Royal Court and it was such a positive experience. I read The Pride back then in the hope that one day we'd be able to work on it together and now is that time. Trafalgar Transformed is an exciting thing I had heard of so to be apart of this fresh new kind of theatre is perfect for me."
Answering the same question, Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne said "I came to see The Scottish Play and loved it so emailed my agent, telling him that I really wanted to do a Jamie Lloyd play. Then I came to see The Hothouse, having not heard anything, and emailed my agent again saying "I really want to do a Jamie Lloyd play"... and then it happened which is wonderful! The Pride just feels so relevant and is a fantastic move forward from the previous two plays of the season. I get to play three parts in one play which is great. What attracted me was the play, Jamie and the season - it's something I really wanted to be part of."
When asked about putting on four productions back to back, Jamie Lloyd said "It's a lot of hard work from a lot of people and it's majorly exciting. On Saturday night (3rd August), minutes after the cast of The Hothouse take their final bow, a group of guys will come in with drills and will literally start dismantling the set. Overnight the space will be transformed once again. I have to say, the team that we have here are totally dedicated to the season."
