Los Vivancos
London Coliseum

One of Spain’s biggest global success stories, Los Vivancos are seven talented brothers who perform flamenco with ballet, martial arts and tap. This unique mix provides an exciting evening at the theatre full of surprises. Last night they made their London debut in a one off performance at the London Coliseum.
The show saw the brothers tell a story set in a paranormal and supernatural world. Playing angels, demons and vampires the brothers explored good versus evil through dance and music. Performing a mixture of group and solo numbers, it was clear that Los Vivancos had a story to tell. Their passion and talent shone and brought many audience members to their feet during the show's (extremely long) finale.
Although the set was a little underwhelming, the dazzling lighting design was out of this world, bringing intensity and making the performance quite a spectacle to watch. As well as being talented dancers, the brothers also showed off their musical talents throughout the evening.
Unfortunately a few numbers dragged on and became a little repetitive. The performance could easily be a little shorter and it was unnecessary for the finale to go on for so long as I felt some of the magic was lost. Many audience members left a little early and had I been sat towards the end of a row I probably would have joined them. The performance felt a little over dramatic in places.
It was incredible to see the brothers perform in the London Coliseum which is one of London's most beautiful theatres. However, should they return to London I would love to see them play a more intimate venue, enabling the audience to see them perform up close and personal. I am sure that it won't be long until Los Vivancos storm a London stage again soon.
