Olivier Awards 2013: Book tickets to see Olivier Award winning shows

The winners of the most prestigious event in the UK theatrical calendar, the 37th Olivier Awards with MasterCard, were announced last night (28th April 2013) at the Royal Opera House. You can book tickets to some of the award winning shows below (plus save up to £23)!

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, an adaption of Mark Haddon’s best-selling novel by Simon Stephens at the National Theatre’s Cottesloe Theatre and the Apollo Theatre, was the evening’s biggest winner taking home seven awards, equalling Matilda the Musical’s record win in 2012. As well as MasterCard Best New Play, the play’s winners included Luke Treadaway for Best Actor, Nicola Walker for Best Supporting Actress, Marianne Elliott for Best Director, Paule Constable for the White Light Award for Lighting Design, Bunny Christie and Finn Ross for the XL Video Award for Best Set Design and Ian Dickinson and Adrian Sutton for Best Sound Design.

Top Hat
Aldwych Theatre

Winning three awards and bringing the glamour of the golden age of Hollywood to the West End, Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre won Best New Musical, as well as Autograph Sound Award for Best Theatre Choreographer for Bill Deamer, and Best Costume Design for Jon Morrell.

American actress Leigh Zimmerman who stars in A Chorus Line collected the award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical. The show - which takes a behind-the-scenes look at 17 hopefuls auditioning for just eight places in a new Broadway musical - has a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Date, with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Its famous score includes numbers such "I Hope I Get It", "Sing!" and, most memorably, "One (Singular Sensation)".
