Burn The Floor is electrifying. Not once did I spot a dancer not giving 100%. Burn The Floor is very passionate and exhilarating, making it the ultimate dance show. Ray Klausen's set design is minimalistic which is perfect as it means the show purely focuses on the talent of its incredible cast.
Burn The Floor stars Robin Windsor and Kristina Rihanoff (who you will probably know from Strictly Come Dancing). Both give breathtaking performances although I would have liked to have seen more of them! The beauty of Burn The Floor is that every dance is completely different which keeps the show fresh and exciting. Each dance is captivating and tells its own story.
Recently I saw Midnight Tango at the Phoenix Theatre, while the show was elegant and slick, Burn The Floor is bigger, bolder and sexier. The show takes more risks and you never know what is going to happen next. Burn The Floor is manipulative, constantly playing with your emotions. One minute you will find yourself clapping along in the party spirit and the next you will be left open mouthed at the most elegant choreography you will have ever seen.
The dancers are not the only stars of the show. The music is mind blowing! The on-stage band are magnificent. Peter Saul Blewden is impressive as the male vocalist but it is Vonzell Solomon who blows the roof off the Shaftesbury Theatre with her powerful voice. Vonzell is an extremely talented vocalist, she has a stunningly pure tone as well as a very powerful, impressive range.
If you have any sort of interest in ballroom dance you must see Burn The Floor. It is one thing to watch it on television, but to watch it in front of your very own eyes is something else.
