According to The Sun, Alexander Hanson with portray Simon Cowell in the upcoming X Factor Musical. Alexander played Khashoggi in the original West End production on We Will Rock You. His other theatre credits include Marguerite, The Sound of Music and Talking to Terrorists. Please remember nothing has yet been confirmed.
Apparently Simon Cowell was "howling with laughter" when he watched Hanson read through his lines for the play in London last week. A source said: "He's not exactly a Hollywood A-lister but he does a bloody good Simon Cowell. Simon had to admit he was the right man for the job."
Alexander's portrayal of Simon will reportedly include a song titled 'Falling in Love with Myself'.
Harry Hill has been working on the musical project with songwriter Steve Brown, who previously worked together on TV Burp. Insiders have claimed that the musical will focus on a hopeful named Shenise and her attempts to win The X Factor.
Shenise is said to be based on winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, and provides a 'SuBo' moment along with a sob story involving her dad's iron lung. The wannabes trying out for the judges will reportedly include a hunchback singer.
Simon Cowell's character will be joined by a WAG named Geordie (based on Cheryl Cole), and a merry Louis Walsh-inspired character. A source close to Cowell said: "He genuinely loves it. Simon knows that many people see him as a bit of a cartoon character so he doesn't mind having the piss taken out of him. It's a very funny script Harry Hill has put together and the songs are laugh-out-loud amusing."
Simon Cowell recently Tweeted about the project, describing it as "sensational".
