It has been announced that action hero movie legend Sylvester Stallone (pictured right), star, writer, producer and director of almost 90 movies and one of Hollywood’s biggest box office draws, is to get up close and personal at a unique event. He will star in An Evening with Sylvester Stallon at London’s Central Hall Westminster on Saturday 11th January 2014.
One of the most popular movie stars of all time, from the breakthrough Rocky in 1976 - nominated for 10 Oscars - to his latest blockbuster movie franchise, The Expendables, Mr Stallone will share private moments and insights from his outstanding career as he is interviewed on stage by Gold Radio’s Dean Martin. There will then be a Q&A session with the chance for members of the audience to ask questions.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Sylvester Stallone said: “When people meet me they’re often surprised. I talk a great deal. I consider myself something of a raconteur. I have a rather audacious sense of humour. I’ve had such a long career and so many ups and downs. I have a big mix of wonderful stories and colourful anecdotes."
An Evening with Sylvester Stallone is produced by Rocco Buonvino and Joe Ricotta. In June 2013, Mr Buonvino presented the sold-out, acclaimed An Evening with Al Pacino at the London Palladium.
Sylvester Stallone has established worldwide recognition as an actor, writer and director since he played the title role in his own screenplay of Rocky, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Rocky grew to a franchise of five sequels and in 2006 Stallone concluded the series with Rocky Balboa, a critical and audience success which resolutely confirmed both Stallone and Rocky as iconic cultural symbols.
