Following its West End closure last year, Blood Brothers continues to tour the UK and will visit the New Wimbledon Theatre for one week only between Monday 14th and Saturday 19th October 2013.
The tour currently stars Maureen Nolan as Mrs Johnstone, she previously played the role in the West End. She is joined by Warwick Evans as The Narrator.
When Mrs Johnstone, a young mother, is deserted by her husband and left to her own devices to provide for seven hungry children she takes a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet.
It is not long before her brittle world crashes around her when she discovers herself to be pregnant yet again – this time with twins. In a moment of weakness and desperation, she enters a secret pact with her employer which leads inexorably to the show’s shattering climax.
The West End production of Blood Brothers closed in November last year after 10,000 performances and 24 years, making it the third longest-running West End musical.
