Cirque du Soleil brings award winning production to the Royal Albert Hall

Cirque du Soleil have announced that they are bringing their award winning production 'Quidam' to London next year. The show will open at the Royal Albert Hall on 7th January 2014 (previews from 4th January) and will run until 9th February 2014.

Quidam received its world premiere in Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996. Since then, the production has toured on five continents and played to over 10 million patrons worldwide. During the run of Quidam at the Royal Albert Hall, Cirque du Soleil will welcome its 3 millionth London patron. In December 2010 Quidam embarked on a new journey, performing the same production in arenas throughout the world.

Young ZoĆ© is bored; her parents, distant and apathetic, ignore her. Her life has lost all meaning. Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an imaginary world—the world of Quidam—where she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul.

Quidam features an international cast of 45 world-class acrobats from 19 countries across the globe, including the award winning acts Banquine, in which fifteen artists perform sequences of acrobatics and human pyramids in synchronized movements and Aerial Contortion in Silk combining intensity, power and grace suspended high above the stage. Other acts include Aerial Hoops, Rope Skipping, Diablo and Juggling.

From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is now a major Quebec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The company has 5,000 employees, including more than 1,300 performing artists from almost 50 different countries. Since 1984, Cirque du Soleil has been seen by over 100 million spectators in more than 300 cities in over forty countries on six continents.
