The Vertical Hour is a fascinating play by David Hare which remains incredibly relevant. The secret to the play's success is that it is delves into the debate surrounding Iraq as well as family and relationship issues. It is politically charged but also human.

Full casting announced for first London revival of The Vertical Hour

Full casting has been announced for the first London revival of David Hare’s The Vertical Hour. 

The production opens at the Park Theatre (Park200) on Thursday 25th September (previews from 23rd September) and runs until Sunday 26th October 2014.

Joining Peter Davison (pictured right) and Thusitha Jayasundera are: Cameron Cuffe (Dennis Dutton), Pepter Lunkuse (Terri) and Finlay Robertson (Philip). 

Directed by Nigel Douglas, The Vertical Hour is described as a "gripping play" that "pits personal philosophies against global politics." The play received its UK premiere at the Royal Court in 2008.

Peter Davison & Thusitha Jayasundera star in David Hare's The Vertical Hour

It has been announced that Peter Davison and Thusitha Jayasundera will star in the first London revival of David Hare’s The Vertical Hour at the Park Theatre

The production opens at Park200 on Thursday 25th September (previews from 23rd September) and runs until Sunday 26th October 2014. The Vertical Hour is described as a "gripping play" that "pits personal philosophies against global politics."

Best known for playing the fifth incarnation of The Doctor in Doctor Who and Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small, Davison will star as Oliver opposite Jayasundera as Nadia. The play, which received its UK premiere at the Royal Court in 2008, will be directed by Nigel Douglas.

Park Theatre to stage first London revival of The Vertical Hour

It has been announced that the Park Theatre will host the first London revival of David Hare’s play The Vertical Hour.

The production will be directed by the BAFTA award-winning director Nigel Douglas, marking his return to theatre after focusing on television and film projects for the past decade.

The Vertical Hour premièred on Broadway in 2006 directed by Sam Mendes and then made its UK première at the beginning of 2008 at the Royal Court. It is described as a "gripping play that pits personal philosophies against global politics".
