Stephen Ashfield joining Broadway production of The Book of Mormon

Stephen Ashfield has announced that he is taking over as Elder McKinley in the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon.

Ashfield will play his first performance at New York's Eugene O'Neill Theatre on 23rd August 2016. He takes over from Grey Henson who departs the show on 21st August.

Ashfield has been playing Elder McKinley in the West End since 2013 and won an Olivier Award for his performance. He will play his final show at London's Prince Of Wales Theatre on 6th August 2016.

Boy Meets Boy originally opened off-Broadway in 1975 at the Actors’ Playhouse and ran for 463 performances. This is the shows UK premiere. I cannot understand why it has taken so long for such an outstanding show to open in the UK. Boy Meets Boy draws you into a fascinating world (in 1936) where gay relationships and marriages are perfectly acceptable and have been for years.

Casting announced for The Book Of Mormon!

Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner will play Elder Price and Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon, which previews at the Prince of Wales Theatre from 25th February 2013. They are currently leading the company in the Los Angeles production, which has broken all box office records at the Pantages Theatre.

Interview: Stephen Ashfield, starring as Casey O'Brien in Boy Meets Boy

Stephen Ashfield will star as Casey O'Brien in Boy Meets Boy at the Jermyn Street Theatre from 21st November. He is best known for appearing as Bob Gaudio in the original London cast of Jersey Boys and most recently playing Emmett Forrest in the West End production of Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre. Stephen made his West End debut as Boy George in Taboo, a role he reprised for the UK tour. His other theatre credits include Adam in Imagine This (Theatre Royal Plymouth); John in Tomorrow Morning (New End Theatre, London) and Nick Piazza in Fame (West End).
