Full casting announced for King Charles III UK tour

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming UK tour of King Charles III.

Joining the previously announced  Robert Powell as King Charles are: Penelope Beaumont, Jennifer Bryden, Richard Glaves, Dominic Jephcott, Lucy Phelps, Ben Righton, Giles Taylor, Parth Thakerar, Tim Treloar, Beatrice Walker and Paul Westwood.

Mike Bartlett's new play premiered at the Almeida Theatre before transferring to the West End. It is also opening on Broadway later this year.

Tour dates announced for King Charles III

Dates and venues have been announced for the previously announced UK tour of King Charles III starring Robert Powell in the title role.

Mike Bartlett's new play premiered at the Almeida Theatre before transferring to the West End. It is also opening on Broadway later this year.

The UK touring production opens at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 4th September 2015 and will then tour to: Richmond Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Milton Keynes Theatre, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Canterbury Marlowe Theatre, Malvern Festival Theatre, Guildford Yvonne Arnaud, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal, Chichester Festival Theatre and Plymouth Theatre Royal.

Robert Powell to star in UK tour of King Charles III

It has been announced that Robert Powell will star as King Charles the UK tour of King Charles III. 

Mike Bartlett's new play premiered at the Almeida Theatre before transferring to the West End. It will also open on Broadway later this year.

The UK tour of King Charles III previews at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre from Friday 4th September 2015. Further tour dates will be announced shortly.

Robert Powell to star in UK Tour of Agatha Christie's Black Coffee

The Agatha Christie Theatre Company have announced that Robert Powell (pictured right) is to star as Hercule Poirot in a new touring production of Christie's first ever play, Black Coffee.

The production opens at the Theatre Royal, Windsor on January 7th 2014 and tours the UK until July 2014.

Robert Powell, who recently starred in the West End production of Singin' in the Rain, has received multiple awards for his work in television, including the BAFTA for Best Actor for playing the title role in Franco Zefferelli’s Jesus of Nazareth. He played Mark Williams in the BBC’s Holby City for six years and David Briggs in the BBC’s The Detectives opposite Jasper Carrott. On film Powell played Richard Hannay in the 1978 film version of The Thirty Nine Steps as well as roles in Tommy, Harlequin, The Jigsaw Man and Jane Austen in Manhattan.

Robert Powell to join the cast of Singin' In The Rain from 1st October

Film and television star Robert Powell will join the cast of Singin’ in the Rain from 1 October 2012. The musical is now booking at the Palace Theatre until 1st September 2013. The news coincides with the 60th anniversary of the release of the iconic 1952 MGM film version starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds. The Original London Cast Recording of this production of Singin’ in the Rain was also recently released by First Night Records, reaching number one on the soundtrack chart during its first month on sale.
