Fresh from playing Howard Bellamy in BBC One’s Doctors, it has been announced that Ian Kelsey will star as Andy Dufresne in a new touring production of The Shawshank Redemption.
The cast also includes Casualty star Patrick Robinson as Ellis ‘Red’ Redding. The Shawshank Redemption opens at the Theatre Royal Windsor on 18th August 2015; full tour dates below.
Bill Kenwright's production is directed by David Esbjornson, adapted by Owen O’Neill and Dave Johns with design by Gary McCann and lighting by Chris Davey.
Kelsey's screen credits also include: Patrick Spiller in Casualty, Dave Glover in Emmerdale, Matt Brewer in Down To Earth, DI Richard Mayne in Blue Murder and Jack Clayton in Where The Heart Is. On stage he has played Billy Flynn in Chicago and Danny Zuko in Grease.
