Casting announced for Grease at the Leicester Curve

Casting has been announced for Grease at the Leicester Curve.

With book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Grease opens on 1st December 2016 (previews from 26th November) and runs until 14th January 2017. Nikolai Foster directs.

Choreographer will be by Nick Winston with design by Colin Richmond, lighting by Guy Hoare and orchestrations by Sarah Travis.

Tell me more, tell me more! Grease to launch 2017 UK tour

It has been announced that Grease will launch a UK tour in 2017.

The musical will open at the Manchester Palace Theatre between 10th and 25th March 2017, with further dates and venues to be announced. 

The most recent UK tour of Grease starred Danny Bayne as Danny, Carina Gillespie as Sandy, Ricky Rojas as Kenickie and Kate Somerset How as Rizzo. Casting for the 2017 tour has not been confirmed. 

Leicester Curve to revive Grease this Christmas

Chris Stafford and Nikolai Foster have announced a new season of Made At Curve productions for autumn and Christmas 2016.

In October, Foster directs a contemporary spin on Oscar Wilde’s classic play The Importance of Being Earnest, a co-production with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and this is followed by the return of Akram Khan with a new Curve co-production of Until The Lions running from 3rd – 5th November.

Then at Christmas, Nikolai Foster will direct the brand new production of Grease in the Theatre while at the same time Curve revisits the work of Roald Dahl in the Studio with David Wood’s adaption of The Twits in a new co-production with Rose Theatre Kingston. The Twits will play to an international audience with the show visiting Hong Kong prior to its run at Curve. The show then travels to Rose Theatre Kingston in April 2017.

Ashleigh Gray, Aaron Sidwell, Hannah Levane and Niall Sheehy join cast of Cool Rider

Further casting has been announced for Cool Ruder (aka Grease 2) which will play two performances only on Monday 27th January 2014 at the West End’s Lyric Theatre. 

Joining the previously announced Reece Shearsmith as biology teacher Mr Stuart are Ashleigh Gray as Stephanie, Aaron Sidwell as Michael, Hannah Levane as Paulette and Niall Sheehy as Johnny.

Robin Cousins returning to the West End

After just finishing a successful stint as Teen Angel in Grease Robin Cousins is returning to the West End! This time he will be joining the cast of Chicago (at the Garrick) to play Billy Flynn! His run begins on the 17th of July and ends on the 8th of September 2012.

When I first heard Robin was joining Grease a couple of years ago I was so surprised as I only knew him as the serious Dancing On Ice Judge however he has had quite a stage career! He has previously appeared as Munkustrap in Cats and Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show!

The current cast of Chicago includes Sarah Soetaert as Roxie Hart, Rachel McDowall as Velma Kelly, James Doherty as Amos Hart, Jasna Ivir as Mama Morton and R Whitehead as Mary Sunshine.
