Performing A Midsummer Night's Dream with a cast of seven and limited props/costume in one hour fifty minutes is no easy task. Not only do Go People Theatre Company pull it off, but they have also triumphantly found a new way to present a Shakespeare classic, which is easier said than done.

Cynthia Erivo to star in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre

It has been announced that West End star Cynthia Erivo will play Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool.

Directed by Nick Bagnall, the production runs between 21st March and 18th April 2015. The cast also includes Dean Nolan as Bottom and Andrew Schofield as Peter Quince.

Design is by Ashley Martin-Davis with lighting by Peter Mumford, music by James Fortune and sound by Peter Rice.

Erivo created the role of Chenice in I Can't Sing (Palladium) and played Celie in the UK premiere of The Color Purple (Menier) to tremendous critical acclaim. 

Theatre Gossip: Susannah Fielding & Katherine Kingsley join Sheridan Smith & David Walliams in A Midsummer Night's Dream

According to the Daily Mail, Michael Grandage has completed casting for his production of A Midsummer Night's Dream which opens later this year as part of his season at the Noël Coward Theatre. The production will reportedly star Susannah Fielding as Hermia and Katherine Kingsley as Helena while Gavin Fowler will play Puck.

The cast will also feature: Stefan Adegbola, Richard Dempsey, Henry Everett, , Alex Large, Craig Vye, Leo Wringer and Padraic Delaney. They join the previously announced Sheridan Smith as Titania and David Walliams as Bottom in this new production of one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies which begins previews at the Noël Coward Theatre on 7th September 2013.
