Further casting announced for Hairspray LIVE!

You can't stop the beat! Even more casting has been announced for NBC's Hairspray LIVE.

Disney stars Dove Cameron and Garrett Clayton will play Amber von Tussle and Link Larkin alongside Emmy winner Sean Hayes as Mr. Pinky.

Also joining the all-star cast is comedian/television personality/former Broadway actress Rosie O'Donnell who will play Tracy Turnblad's gym teacher. Hairspray LIVE will be broadcast in the U.S. on 7th December 2016.

The previously announced cast includes Kristin Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle,  Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, Derek Houghas Corny Collins, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton and newcomer Maddie Baillio as Tracy. As well as writing the screenplay for the live broadcast, Harvey Fierstein will reprise his performance as Edna Turnblad, having originated the role on Broadway.

Hairspray LIVE will be directed by Kenny Leon who helmed The Wiz LIVE last year. He will work alongside the show's original choreographer Jerry Mitchell. It is unknown whether the show will follow the footsteps of Fox's Grease LIVE and be shown in the UK. 

Hairspray has music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.
