Release date confirmed for FUNNY GIRL cast recording starring Sheridan Smith

It has been confirmed that the Funny Girl cast recording featuring Sheridan Smith as Fanny Brice will be released on 5th August with Decca Records.

With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and book by Isobel Lennart, the musical first opened on Broadway in 1964, transferring to London in 1966. 

Michael Mayer’s new production is currently playing at the Savoy Theatre until 8th October, following its record-breaking run at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

Alongside Smith, the cast includes Darius Campbell as Nicky Arnstein, Marilyn Cutts as Mrs Brice,Maurice Lane as Mr Keeney, Valda Aviks as Mrs Meeker, Gay Soper as Mrs Strakosh, Natasha J Barnes as Emma/Mrs Nadler,Bruce Montague as Florenz Ziegfeld and Joel Montague as Eddie Ryan. 

Completing the company are Philip Bertioli (Cornet Man/Tenor Soloist/ Ensemble), Emma Caffrey(Bubbles/Ensemble), Joelle Dyson (Ensemble), Rebecca Fennelly (Polly/Ensemble), Luke Fetherston (John/Cornet Man/Ensemble), Matthew Goodgame(Director/Renaldi/Paul/Ensemble), Leah Harris (Ensemble), Kelly Homewood (Vera/Ensemble) and Sammy Kelly (Mimsey/Ensemble) as well as Sanchia Amber Clarke, Lucinda Collins, Sam Murphy, Tom Murphy, Clare Rickard and Oliver Tester.
