Casting has been announced for Reading Rep's production of Ben Hur.
Adapted by Hattie Naylor and directed by Christie O’Carroll, the play runs at the Hexagon in Reading between 1st and 3rd September 2016.
The cast will include Miles Yekinni (Doctors/War Horse) as Ben Hur, Matt Lapinskas (EastEnders/Joseph) as Messala, Chris Barritt (The Caretaker/History Boys) as Balthazar, Rebecca Tanwen (Mr Selfridge/Othello) as Zina and Ian Pirie (Black Watch/Phantom of The Opera) as Melchoir.
The professional cast will be joined by a community company of 65 local performers as part of an ambitious large-scale project, marking the opening of Reading 2016 Year of Culture’s ‘Made in RDG’ showcase – a month of projects celebrating work made by and for the people of Reading.
