First casting has been announced for a concert staging of Robert J. Sherman’s new musical Bumblescratch.
Directed and choreographed by Stewart Nicholls, the performance will take place at the Adelphi Theatre on 4th September 2016.
The show will star Darren Day (Joseph/Priscilla) as Melbourne Bumblescratch, Jessica Martin (Elf/Spamalot) as Bethesda/Widow MacGregor and Michael Xavier (Sunset Boulevard/Show Boat) as Hookbeard. Further casting is to be announced.
Lighting will be by David W. Kidd with sound by Andy Johnson, set/costume by Gabiella Slade and musical direction by Tom Kelly.
The performance is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity, and is part of commemorations for the 350th Anniversary of the Great Fire of London which raged in the East End for four days from 2 to 5 September 1666.
