The King and I to close on Broadway

The Broadway revival of The King and I has announced its closure.

The show will play its final performance at the Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre on 26th June 2016. Having opened in March 2015, the revival will have played 538 performances.

A U.S. tour of the production, which is directed by Bartlett Sher, will open in November 2016 whilst a West End transfer starring Kelli O'Hara is rumoured.

The King and I is choreographed by Christopher Gattelli (based on the original choreography by Jerome Robbins) and has set design by Michael Yeargan.
