Following its current West End run, it has been announced that Funny Girl will launch a 2017 national tour.
Funny Girl opened at the Menier Chocolate Factory last year before transferring to the Savoy Theatre in April 2016. Further tour dates and casting will be announced at a later date.
The production will open at the Manchester Palace on 20th February before touring to the Milton Keynes Theatre, Liverpool Empire, Bristol Hippodrome, Stoke Regent Theatre, His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen, Edinburgh Playhouse, New Victoria Theatre Woking, Marlowe Theatre Canterbury, Birmingham Hippodrome, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Mayflower Theatre Southampton, King’s Theatre Glasgow, Nottingham Theatre Royal and Southend Cliffs Pavilion.
The show is directed by Michael Mayer with choreography by Lynne Page, with set by Michael Pavelka, costume by Matthew Wright, lighting by Mark Henderson,sound by Richard Brooker, musical supervision and arrangements by Alan Williams and orchestrations by Chris Walker.
The current cast includes Natasha J Barnes as Fanny Brice, Darius Campbell as Nicky Arnstein, Marilyn Cutts as Mrs Brice, Maurice Lane as Mr Keeney, Valda Aviks as Mrs Meeker, Gay Soper as Mrs Strakosh, Bruce Montague as Florenz Ziegfeld and Joel Montague as Eddie Ryan. Sheridan Smith is expected to be returning to the production as Fanny Brice next month.
