Alexandra Ncube takes over as Nabulungi in West End production of The Book of Mormon

U.S. actress Alexandra Ncube has taken over as Nabulungi in the West End production of The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Broadway actress Asmeret Ghebremichael celebrated her final performance as Nabulungi on Saturday night (28th May), with Ncube playing her first performance yesterday (30th May).

Ncube, who previously played Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon's U.S. tour, joins Broadway actors KJ Hippensteel and Brian Sears who star as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham as well as Olivier winner Stephen Ashfield as Elder McKinley.

The current cast is completed by Delroy Atkinson, Tyrone Huntley, Richard Lloyd-King, Dean Maynard, Kelly Agbowu, Philip Catchpole, Joseph Davenport, Jonathan Dudley, Harry Francis, Lydia Fraser, Reece Kerridge, Alex Lodge, Joshua Lovell, Brianna Ogunbawo, Stephen Rolley, Jacade Simpson, Ellena Vincent, Rodney Vubya, T’Shan Williams, Oliver Ormson, Christopher Copeland, Brendan Cull, Tania Mathurin, David McMullan, Sean Parkins, David O’Reilly, Rhys Taylor and Kayi Ushe.

From South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez,The Book of Mormon follows a pair of Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that's a long way from Salt Lake City. The musical premiered on Broadway in 2011 before opening in London in 2013.
