Wicked to launch international tour!

The Telegraph and Argus has announced that Wicked will launch an international tour next year!

The tour will open at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre on Wednesday 20th July 2016 for 5 week season before travelling overseas to Asia for an international tour which will run into 2017.

Bradford will be the only British city outside of London to host Wicked in 2016. Tickets for the run are on sale from Tuesday 24th November 2015.

Wicked's executive producer Michael McCabe said: "We are delighted to choose Bradford, and the magnificent Alhambra Theatre, as the city from which we will re-launch our spectacular UK and Ireland touring production as it embarks on an exciting journey around the world."

The West End production will continue to run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre where it is now in its 10th year and the 19th longest-running show in West End history. Around the world Wicked has been seen by 50 million people in 13 countries.

Wicked previously toured the UK and Ireland between September 2013 and July 2015. Nikki Davis-Jones, Emily Tierney and Liam Doyle recreated the roles of Elphaba, Glinda and Fiyero when the tour launched at the Manchester Palace Theatre. The touring cast later starred Ashleigh Gray as Elphaba and Samuel Edwards as Fiyero.

Earlier this year Jacqueline Hughes won West End Frame's Understudy of the Year Award for standing by as Elphaba in the Wicked UK & Ireland tour.
