Just kidding, although I thought that title would draw you in - I understand, it would have done the same to me, BUT have you considered the possibility of becoming your own ‘Big Deal’? Or maybe thought about what things you might need to help you climb your ladder? I think I might be able to give a couple of ideas on how we can potentially make this happen. Let's give it a go, and if you end up broke... don't blame me.
My boss once told me "The person who has time to do 10 things in a day, always has time to do 11, but the person who has nothing to do, never has time to do anything". He told me of a story at school - when asked by the teacher who could read a book and report something back to the class, it was him that put his hand up, despite running a school production alongside five A Levels. If something’s worth doing, then it's worth doing well, so maybe if you can be the person who manages your time that’s a good start.
I'm learning each day by working with a variety of agents how important it is to prioritise your work and have solid attention to detail. I'll admit, I didn't really have this in the beginning, as it seemed impossible to retain so much information all at once, but actually it just takes a little practice. I think good attention to detail makes good business and that's your first clue from me on how to make a million.
I've now become best friends with my notebook. Writing things down seems to take all of the thoughts and information out of my brain and puts them onto paper so they can stare right back at you and remind you what needs doing. I think this may be a really good way of organising all your thoughts and workload. Get a notebook and try writing everything down. Clue number two on how to make your fortune?
Of course you must take chances and risks in climbing your ladder. If you sweat the small stuff and only focus on the smallest details, then you'll never get the bigger picture right. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and errors on the way, as I'm learning that you have to make these in order to grow whilst you continue to climb. You don’t learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing and by falling over. You also mustn't ever stop doing your best if someone doesn't give you credit. If you can journey through your day without needing validation from others, then you can truly focus on what you're doing. That one can be difficult to achieve at times, but do your best. I think that might be clue number three.
Richard Branson once said: "A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts. Above all, you want to create something you are proud of. That's always been my philosophy of business. I can honestly say that I have never gone into any business purely to make money. If that is the sole motive, then I believe you are better off doing nothing."

Maybe the key to happiness and success is to find something you love, something that gets your creative colours flowing. I quote Richard Branson as he contradicts the title of this blog. Yes who wouldn’t like to make a million, but can you aim for the top and ensure you have true happiness in doing so? After all, we spend most of our lives at work.
Personally, what matters to me is that I do what I love with passion and do it to the best of my ability. To do that, you must absorb everything you can and learn from the best. You have an imagination for a reason and it’s a very powerful thing. As children we are so open to ideas and everything around us, yet somehow as you grow up, the latter become supressed so we have to work hard at remembering how important it is to use our skills and imagination. Not all dreamers are winners, but all winners are dreamers. Your dream is the key to your future and you shouldn’t let anyone dampen it. After all, it’s yours and you have to protect it.
So in short, I don’t know the exact plan to make you a millionaire, but I think I have a pretty good idea of what attributes are needed on the way up to success and happiness. Working in a field you enjoy is most definitely the start. Be open-minded and versatile, as this will lead you to the quickest solutions for your problems. There’s no sure-fire way to becoming a millionaire, however if you manage to blend the right balance of some of the above, you are hopefully off to a good start!
