Charlie and the Chocolate Factory extends booking to celebrate 1,000th performance

Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has extended its West End booking period to 3rd December 2016 with tickets on sale now.

Tonight (12th October), the production of will celebrate its 1,000th performance at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where it opened in June 2013.

Directed by Sam Mendes, the cast is currently led by Jonathan Slinger as Willy Wonka. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory won two Olivier awards in April 2014, and has broken records at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where it has been seen by over 1,600,000.

The show has music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, book by David Greig, set and costume design by Mark Thompson and choreography by Peter Darling.
