Andrew Scott & David Dawson to star in UK premiere of Richard Greenberg’s The Dazzle

It has been announced that Richard Greenberg’s The Dazzle will receive its UK premiere at FOUND111, a new venue at the site of the old Central St Martins School of Art on Charing Cross Road.

Michael Grandage Company and Emily Dobbs Productions are co-producing the production.

Simon Evans directs Andrew Scott and David Dawson as Langley and Homer. The production opens on 15th December 2015 (previews from 10th December), and runs for a strictly limited season until 30th January 2016. Further casting will be announced shortly.

New York City. The beginning of the 20th Century. Two brothers sit in their home surrounded by 136 tons of hoarded junk. When a beautiful guest arrives, everybody's lives are thrown into sharp focus. 

Scott's recent theatre includes Birdland (Royal Court) Aristocrats, Emperor and Galilean (National Theatre), Sea Wall (Paines Plough, Bush Theatre), as well as numerous plays in Dublin, London and New York. For television his work includes his role as Moriarty in the worldwide smash- hit drama Sherlock; The Town and The Hollow Crown. His recent films included Ken Loach's Jimmy's Hall, Matthew Warchus' Pride, (BIFA for Best Supporting Actor), Lockeand The Stag. His forthcoming films include Frankenstein with James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe, and Alice: Through The Looking Glass with Johnny Depp. Scott will next be seen in Spectre, the latest instalment of the Bond franchise.

Dawson's theatre credits include The Duchess of Malfi (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse), Luise Miller (Donmar Warehouse), Posh (Royal Court), Comedians (Lyric Hammersmith), Romeo and Juliet (RSC), The Entertainer, Richard II (Old Vic) andNicholas Nickleby (Chichester Festival Theatre, national tour and Gielgud Theatre – nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Newcomer). For television, he is best known for his role in Ripper Street, and for his recent performances in Banished and Peaky Blinders. His work other television work includes The Hollow Crown, Luther, The Road to Coronation Street, Gracie, The Thick of Itand Secret Diary of a Call Girl; and for film, London Boulevard. He recently completed filming the 8 part epic new BBC drama The Last Kingdom playing King Alfred.
